8 Lessons You Can Learn from Your Handicapped Pet

Caring for a senior or disabled pet can be tiring and can take a lot out of their care givers. Sometimes we need to take the and remind ourselves how amazing it is to own a pet. All the love we give our pets is returned tenfold. And if we pay attention there is a lot to be learned from the animals in our lives. We asked our friends on Social Media to share the many lessons that their pets have taught them, here are just a few:

1. Acceptance

Our pets find happiness in the smallest moments, every second is precious. Learning to enjoy every moment while it's happening is a gift.

Bogart may be a bit unsteady on his feet, and may fall down every once in a while, but he refused to give up. Bogart's persistent nature will help him as he learns to navigate life in his new Walkin' Wheels wheelchair.

5. Patience

6. Strength

Strength comes in all sizes, and although Zoe was tiny her inner strength helped her to push through all of the challenge's life threw at her.

7. Happiness is a Choice

8. To Give Back

After his beloved dog, Gunnar was hit by a car and became paralyzed, Jason's community raised the money to get Gunnar his first set of wheels. Inspired, Jason Parker created the Gunnar’s Wheels foundation to pay it forward. Donating over 1,000 wheelchairs to dogs in need.
