We have been building wheelchairs for over two decades, and nearly 2 million pets have used Walkin’ Pets products to get back on their feet. We're not a reseller or a marketplace — we're the manufacturer, and that sets a standard on what "refurbished" means when it comes from us.
We've always believed that every dog deserves to be mobile, regardless of what their legs are doing.
This program exists so that more dogs can access the wheelchair that's helped millions of pets walk, play, and live like themselves again, at a price point that makes that possible for even more pet parents.
Every chair in this program came back to us. Because it's going home to your pet, we took it apart, evaluated every component, rebuilt it to our standards, and put our name back on it.
Every chair we refurbish is one that doesn't end up in a landfill. Mobility equipment isn't small, and it isn't cheap to produce from the materials, the manufacturing, to the shipping. When a chair comes back to us, and we can give it a second life, that matters.
We use craft paper void fill instead of bubble wrap. We skip the retail box. We don't include packaging that exists just to look good in an unboxing video. None of that makes the chair work better, and all of it has a cost, both to you and to the environment.
No shortcuts because every chair comes completely apart before anything is evaluated.
Each part is checked against our standards. Anything that doesn't pass gets replaced.
Every hard component is sanitized with 70% isopropyl alcohol, killing 99.9% of bacteria and pathogens. It leaves zero harmful residue, arriving completely pet-safe and ready to roll!

The frame and soft goods arrive securely wrapped and sealed. We use eco-friendly paper fill and skip wasteful retail packaging to save you money and cleanup. Look for our Certified Refurbished seal on the box.

Walkin' Pets Certified Refurbished wheelchairs aren't used in the way you might expect. The majority of chairs in this program are customer returns received back within our 30-day return window, most often because of a sizing issue, a fit that wasn't quite right, or a change in the pet's circumstances. Many have only ever been assembled and tried on once.That's a very different thing from a secondhand wheelchair with an unknown history, no accountability, and no warranty behind it.Every unit is inspected for structural integrity before it ships, and anything that affects how the chair functions gets replaced. What you may notice are minor cosmetic marks — a light surface scratch, slight signs of assembly, but nothing that affects fit, performance, or how long the chair holds up.If you'd prefer a chair with no history at all, our new chairs are right here. We'd always rather point you to the right product for your dog.
Both our Certified Refurbished and brand-new wheelchairs come with premium manufacturer support and include 100% brand-new soft goods (like harnesses and slings) so your pet gets a fresh, clean start.The main difference is the length of the coverage: Certified Refurbished wheelchairs include a 1-year manufacturer warranty, while our brand-new wheelchairs come with a 5-year manufacturer warranty. No matter which option you choose, our support team is always here to help you and your pet.

Yes, your dog's safety is the baseline. Every chair goes through a full disassembly, component evaluation, disinfection, and functional rebuild before it ships. Anything that affects the chair's structural or mechanical performance gets replaced. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't leave our facility.

The chair will be fully functional and clean, with all-new soft goods, but may contain minor cosmetic marks (a light surface scratch on a strut, slight variation in finish, etc.). If zero history matters to you, our new chairs are available here.

If you do need to return, refurbished sales carry a flat 25% restocking fee.
